OWNER’S VIEW — THE DASHBOARD

Owners pull numbers from several systems and still aren’t sure.

The information already exists. It is in an accounting package, a job system, a spreadsheet somebody maintains and a bank app, and assembling it takes long enough that nobody does it weekly. This is the business on one screen, department by department and process by process, with a written definition behind every figure.

YOUR BACK OFFICE

WHO THIS IS FOR

Owners who can find any single number if they go looking, and cannot see the whole picture without losing a morning to it.

THE PROBLEM

So it gets assembled monthly at best, usually in arrears, usually by the owner. The decisions that needed it were taken three weeks earlier on a feeling, and the figure that would have changed one of them was sitting in a system nobody opened.

Every figure has a written definition and a source behind it. A number that would not change a decision does not get a place.

The Owner’s Dashboard for a manufacturer: each department and its processes, what is late and what needs the owner, with a source and a time on every number.

What you get.

  • One screen laid out by your departments and processes — what each one is doing, what is late and what needs you — holding the numbers that change decisions, not everything that can be measured.
  • A written definition behind each figure, so two people reading the screen reach the same conclusion.
  • The source and the age of every number shown beside it, so you always know what you are looking at.
  • It working properly on the phone, because that is where an owner actually looks at it.

How it works.

Priced against the scope, after a Diagnostic that is small on purpose. The shape of the work we can tell you now.

THE SHAPE
A build, then we keep it running, both quoted on the work and with no licence fee. It refreshes overnight as standard; live refresh is a separately quoted upgrade.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Read access to the systems holding the numbers, and an hour deciding what each one should mean.
WHAT YOU KEEP
The definitions document and the queries behind every figure, which stay useful even if you later build this elsewhere.

What this does not include.

Published because you should know before the call, not after the invoice.

  • Forty charts. If a number would not change a decision, it does not earn a place on the screen.
  • A figure we cannot define. Anything we cannot say exactly what it counts stays off until we can.
  • A data warehouse project. We start from what your systems already expose and say so if that genuinely is not enough.

QUESTIONS

How is this different from the reports our accountant sends?

Timing, mostly. An accountant tells you accurately what happened last quarter; this tells you approximately what is happening now. They answer different questions and you want both — this one is for deciding, not for filing.

What if our numbers are a mess?

Then a dashboard would make the mess prettier without fixing it, and we would be selling you a clean window on a broken room. Getting the underlying records straight comes first, and that is the back office tier, not this one.

WHERE THIS APPLIES

The industries whose page names Owner’s View as one of the places we would start. Each one is written for that trade, with its own numbers.

Bring us one bad week.

Book a pilot call. Tell us where the week goes wrong, and we’ll tell you what an Operations Diagnostic would map and measure.

The first paid step has a clear scope and an end date, and the pilot after it is one workflow — not a platform, and not an open-ended retainer.
