MANUFACTURING — SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO

Stop paying people to find your own mistakes.

The wrong part goes in the right box. The invoice goes out at the wrong price. A number in the ledger nobody can explain. None of it is anyone's fault — it is what happens when the only thing checking the work is a person who is already busy. We put the checks where the work happens, so your people stop spending half their week hunting.

You already have the people. You are spending them on the wrong thing.

Nobody in your plant was hired to hunt for a number that will not reconcile, or to cut open a sealed box to check a part they already packed. That work exists because a busy person is the last line of defence. Move the check to the moment the work is done and that time comes back — to the same people, on the same payroll, doing the job you actually hired them for.

The next office hire you do not have to make.

Four problems, and the check that replaces each one.

Every one of these was answered with another person checking, and every one failed the same way: the check is the first thing skipped when the truck is waiting.

  1. 01

The wrong parts go out in a correctly labelled box, and the customer is the one who finds it.

    Checks stacked on checks

The answer so far has been manual safeguards stacked on manual safeguards — open the sealed box, compare the part to a photo, re-tape it, initial the top, and have a manager walk the dock checking for initials. It costs a loading window, and when the truck is waiting the check is the thing that gets skipped.

  2. 02

The ERP books a variance against standard cost without saying what varied, and the team combs transactions for weeks to find out why.

    Combing the ledger by hand

The entry is generated automatically and the explanation is not. So the one part of the job a system could do arrives finished, and the part only a person can do arrives as an empty field.

  3. 03

Prices are indexed to the metal markets, so customers reissue POs constantly — and someone has to verify every piece price by hand.

    A person at the gate

The pipeline is automated at both ends with a manual gate in the middle. Worse, the shipping notice becomes the invoice: if their PO is wrong, you ship and bill at the wrong price until it is corrected, then rebill, again and again.

  4. 04

A measurement drifting toward its tolerance limit passes every check until the day it does not, and a defect nobody listed is caught only if an operator remembers what the part looked like months ago.

    A longer inspection sheet

An inspection sheet can only ask about the defects someone thought of in advance. You cannot write one long enough to cover a circle that has gone slightly oval, or a part that used to be shiny.

Every process in the plant. Lit where a system carries it.

Each floor is a department and each station a process. The bright line is the path one job takes, and the light travelling it is that job. Select any station to see what starts it, what the system does, and what stays with a person.

YOUR ADDITIONS · THE MAP IS YOURS TO EXTEND

Missing a process? Put it on the map.

Anything you run, or wish you ran, that is not drawn above. Name it, say where it sits, and it appears on the model with a blueprint sheet of its own. It travels with your pilot-call booking, so the call starts from your map, not ours. No price is attached; it is scoped on the call.

What this does not do

  • It does not replace your quality system, your ERP, or the people who run them. It puts a check next to them.
  • It does not decide anything on its own that costs money or stops a line. The odd one out goes to a person.
  • It will not find a variance that never reached a system. If it was never recorded, there is nothing to trace.
  • A Diagnostic is measured against your numbers — your rebill count, your incident log — not against ours.

WHY US

We run this on our own vehicles.

We are not a consultancy that read about AI and wrote a deck. We build and operate the automation behind our own Ontario transport operation — built inside our own business first — and it runs every day whether or not anybody is watching it.

  • Vehicles tracked by geofence on the 401 corridor.
  • Arrival and departure times recorded without anyone typing them.
  • Delay alerts that hold their tongue until they are certain.
  • An AI voice agent that calls drivers before an early start.
  • A dispatch desk that runs on all of it.

That operation carries passengers. Yours makes things, and the business is genuinely different — we are not going to pretend a fleet and a shop floor are the same problem.

What transfers is the machinery, and the expensive mistakes that come with it. The vehicle that clipped a geofence while driving past and marked a stop it never made. The stale data feed that hid whole trips. The alert that fired on one bad GPS reading. Every one of those is a way an automated system embarrasses you in front of a customer, and every one was found and fixed on our vehicles, not yours.

If this is your week, twenty minutes settles whether a Diagnostic would find anything worth fixing.

Put your own numbers through it.

How many people lose a chunk of their day to this, how many hours each, and what a mistake costs you to put right. The calculator works from those and nothing else — every figure it shows is yours.

QUESTIONS WE GET ASKED

How do you stop the wrong part going out in a correctly labelled box?

By matching the part to its label at the moment it is handled — incoming, packed, palletised, loaded — so the check takes no time and cannot be skipped when the driver is impatient. Opening sealed boxes, initialling lids and walking the dock for initials is the manual version, and it is the first thing dropped when the truck is waiting.

Can it explain a variance instead of just booking one?

Yes. Every entry is traced back to what happened on the floor, so a variance arrives with its cause attached and the month closes on an explanation instead of an investigation. It cannot find a variance that never reached a system — if it was not recorded, there is nothing to trace.

What about customer POs priced off the metal index?

Incoming POs are checked against the index the day they arrive, and the one that disagrees is put in front of a person before it can become a shipment, an invoice and a rebill. The manual gate in the middle of an otherwise automated pipeline is the part this replaces.

Does it replace my quality system or my ERP?

No. It works on top of what you already run, not instead of it. It puts a check next to your quality system, your ERP and the people who run them, and it decides nothing on its own that costs money or stops a line — the odd one out goes to a person.

What is the first step, and what is it measured against?

The first engagement is an Operations Diagnostic of the whole business, with one number taken from the part that costs most — the order desk, the dock or the month-end close — measured against your own numbers: orders keyed by hand, your rebill count, your incident log. Recommending you do nothing is a legitimate outcome.

Bring us one bad week.

Book a pilot call. Tell us where the week goes wrong, and we’ll tell you what an Operations Diagnostic would map and measure.

The first paid step has a clear scope and an end date, and the pilot after it is one workflow — not a platform, and not an open-ended retainer.
