CASH CHAIN MODEL — TRUCKING

You are already earning money you are not billing.

Three numbers a carrier can check against records he already holds: the hours your trucks sat and nobody billed, the hours your office loses each day to billing and paperwork, and the days your invoices spend on a desk before the clock on getting paid even starts. The first two recur every year; the third frees cash once. Everything updates as you type. Nothing you enter leaves your browser unless you choose to email yourself the result.

Not their whole job — just the paperwork: chasing PODs, building detention claims, rekeying loads.

Be conservative. Some of it will always need a person.

Wage plus benefits and payroll costs, not the wage alone.

RECOVERED EVERY YEAR

$117,780

$78,000 of detention after driver pay, plus $39,780 of office time. The cash released by invoicing sooner is a one-time figure and is not in this number.

DETENTION RECOVERED A YEAR, AFTER DRIVER PAY

$78,000

$117,000 billed, less $39,000 owed to your drivers. The truck was already there and the fuel was already burned, so this is close to fully incremental.

OFFICE TIME TAKEN BACK A YEAR

$39,780

Billing and paperwork hours a day, over 260 working days — only the share you said a system could take back.

WHAT THE YEAR IS MADE OF

  • $78,000

Detention after driver pay · 66%

  • $39,780

Office time taken back · 34%

ONE-TIME: CASH RELEASED BY INVOICING SOONER

$34,286

5 days of revenue, freed once and permanently — not every year, and not added to the yearly figure above. This is working capital, not profit — your terms start when the invoice is received, not when the load delivered.

At your 5% margin, earning that same profit through new freight would take $2,355,600 of extra revenue — and that revenue costs fuel, hours and wear to earn. The detention and the office hours did not.

YOUR NUMBERS, NOT OUR CLAIM. UNTIL YOU CHANGE AN INPUT THE FIGURES ARE AN EXAMPLE. DETENTION IS ONLY BILLABLE IF YOUR RATE CONFIRMATIONS ALLOW IT — READ TWO BEFORE TRUSTING THIS. DRIVER DETENTION PAY IS SUBTRACTED BECAUSE IT IS OWED.

WHY THIS MODEL

Our other calculator asks what a missed call is worth. That is the right question for a repair shop or a towing company, where an unanswered phone is a lost job — and the wrong one for you. A carrier has no “average job value” and no close rate; he takes loads at a rate against a cost per mile. More importantly, that model reports revenue, and your revenue is mostly cost.

That is why this one reports recovered money against your own operating ratio. A dollar you already earned and never billed is worth many dollars of new freight, because the truck was already there. How we go and get it →

WHERE WE WOULD START

Bring us one bad week.

Book a pilot call. Tell us where the week goes wrong, and we’ll tell you what an Operations Diagnostic would map and measure.

The first paid step has a clear scope and an end date, and the pilot after it is one workflow — not a platform, and not an open-ended retainer.
